FAQs
What
is Consultant Learning?
With Consultant Learning, you are in control of your
grade. You choose your project, complete the work and
buy your grade.
How do I start?
There are two lists that contain suggested projects, the Training List and the
Projects List. If you are new to the course, start with the Training List.
For the 1st semester you will work from this list. If you have already taken
the course or are proficient with Dreamweaver and HTML as shown by your score
on the HTML and Dreamweaver tests, then start with the Projects List.
How do I get my project approved?
Before
you start a project on the Projects List, you must
submit a proposal to your instructor.
Once your proposal is approved, you can start your
project.
What
is the Consultant Learning portfolio?
You will be required to keep a portfolio, which will
contain your projects as well as your project list.
This portfolio will remain in the class. At the end
of the semester, you will submit the portfolio to be
paid.
What if you need help?
If you run into difficulty while working on a project,
see your teacher. You may also receive help from anyone,
so long as you are using them to help you learn how
to do it rather than having them do it for you. What
is plagiarism and what are its consequences?
Using someone else's work, using your own work that you
previously submitted to another teacher for another
class, or having someone else do the work for you
are all serious breaches of the academic integrity
policy
of
this school and will result in a failing grade for
the course and possible other administrative action.
What happens when a project is submitted?
If the project is judged to be of professional quality,
it is accepted. You will be paid the amount that was
agreed upon in the orginal proposal/contract and this
will be written on your Training or Projects List.
What if the project is not of professional quality?
If the project is not up to professional quality standards,
it will be returned for revision. You will not be paid
until you submit professional quality work. There is
no partial compensation, you earn the agreed-upon
fee or nothing.
What if I want to change the original project?
If you want to change your project, resubmit your original
proposal with the changes that you would like to incorporate.
If changes are major, you may need to submit a new
proposal.
What
is in-class work?
In-class work is money you can earn by attending class
and helping out in the lab.
What are fines?
You can also lose money and get your pay docked. Some
of the fines are for being tardy, having food or drinks
in the lab, using a cellphone, going to an inappropriate
website, or playing computer games.
