Textbooks

Your current Crawford student ID card serves as your library card. It is required to check out any library book, textbook or other class material.

If you lose your student ID card, you can go to your school’s office and purchase a new one.
Please return all textbooks as soon as you no longer need them!

Please remember that you are responsible for all items checked out on your card whether lost,
stolen, or damaged. Take care of your books and don't check out materials for others.

Checking Out Textbooks
You are responsible for returning all school materials in the same condition as when they were checked out. Be careful of leaving books in classrooms, PE lockers, or anywhere else on campus!

You are responsible for any damage or loss of the materials while they are checked out to you--including loss or damage due to rain, theft, PE locker damage, etc. You will be charged the replacement cost for any item lost or damaged to the extent that it must be removed from circulation.

Anytime you check out a textbook, thoroughly review the entire book for any markings, water wrinkling, or any other kind of damage. If you find any damage that does not have a Damaged Noted stamp on it, bring the textbook to the attention of the library staff within one week of checking it out.

Returning Textbooks
Textbooks must be returned by you in person. When the textbook is checked in the library staff will read back the name that appears on the computer screen to verify that the textbook belongs to you.

IF YOU RETURN SOMEONE ELSE'S BOOK IT IS CLEARED OFF OF THEIR RECORD, NOT YOURS!!

Paying for a Lost or Damaged Book
The library will tell you the cost of the textbook and give you a lost textbook slip. The student should take this slip with the money (cash or check) to the Finance window. Bring your receipt from the Finance office to the library. Then the library staff will record the payment of the textbook in the computer.

If the book is returned in good condition and checked in, a refund will be mailed to you. Please note that it could take as long as two months from the time the book is checked in for you to receive your refund check.
